Steve was born in Landstuhl, Germany where his Father served in the U.S. Armed Forces. After his Father retired, the family moved to Charleston and thus was born Steve’s fascination with the city’s history and architectural beauty. He graduated from Moultrie High School where he received instruction from Virginia Fouche Bolton, and began expressing his passion for Charleston through his artwork. He continued his education at Georgia Southern University, earning a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance. After graduation Steve began his career as a professional pianist, but continued to hone his artistic skills developed under Virginia Fouche Bolton by studying at the Atlanta College of Art, and Spruill Academy in Atlanta, GA.

Steve’s greatest joy has been showcasing the beauty of the City of Charleston through watercolor, oil, acrylic paintings and pencil drawings. Currently living in Charleston full time, he is a member of the Charleston Artist Guild. In addition to solo shows held both in Atlanta and Charleston, Steve’s work has been juried and accepted in numerous shows including Atlanta Center of the Arts, Piccolo Spoleto Arts Festival, the First Federal Bank show, the 2008 Beaufort Artists Guild Show, the Magnolia “Girl with the Golden Earring” Show and the Charleston Artist Gallery Signature shows. His commissioned works include the Cobb Galleria Center in Atlanta, the Nathaniel Russell House and College of Charleston’s Education building.
